MLK Interfaith Service Project at Washington Hebrew Congregation (NW DC)



During the MLK holiday, faith communities across the DC region came together to honor the spirit of sacrifice of Dr Martin Luther King Jr by performing acts of service. Washington Hebrew Congregation hosted an interfaith effort with multiple activities: a clothing drive, meal preparation, and a project to create care packages and thank you cards for returning soldiers.

The effort drew a phenomenal response.  Volunteers were members of the local Jewish congregation, students from Catholic University, and Faiths Act fellows, amongst others. So many came to assist in fact, the work wrapped early! As one volunteer remarked, not a bad problem to have…
