After the horrific murders of Sikhs in Wisconsin, much of the media coverage has focused on simply clarifying superficial misconceptions about the religion, largely about the appearance of male Sikhs.  It felt necessary, therefore, to hear a strong voice share more about the philosophy and principles of this global faith.

In this interview, local leader Bhai Gurdarshan Singh, of Guru Gobind Singh Foundation Sikh National Center in Rockville, MD, discusses the difference between tolerance and acceptance, weaving in some history of his community and an explanation of the two-fold meaning of the Sikh concept of ‘langar.’
